On Wednesday, 15 January 2025, we warmly invited to our bi-annual keynote, this time with researcher at University of Oxford and award-winning book author Dr. Julia Ebner. By presenting findings of her undercover investigations with extremist groups and revealing how such groups are increasingly infiltrating politics, popular culture and our everyday lives, she left the audience in awe.

Accelerated by a pandemic, global conflict, rapid technological change and increasing individualisation of our societies, extremist’s ideas are becoming more widespread. Especially social media and online spaces are used as tools to increase influence and spread disinformation. This is why Dr. Ebner mentions education on digital literacy and the psychological effects of dynamics in online spaces as crucial factor to turn the tide.
