NGO Academy Member Story #12: About Inclusion

This 12th Member Story focuses on a topic that is relevant to all areas of our professional and personal lives: inclusion. We had the pleasure of talking to two of our many extraordinary members, Dorottya Rédai and Iris Popescu. Both of them are participants in this year’s Social Innovation and Management Programme, and both have published a book that contributes to making our world more inclusive – although in very different fields. The first is a fairytale book for children, the second a design and architecture handbook.

Dorottya is the executive director at Labrisz Lesbian Foundation in Hungary. In the interview she tells us about how “Fairyland is for everyone” became a bestseller after being publicly shredded by a right-wing politician and what that meant for her organisation.

Iris is the founder and director at AMAIS in Romania. In the interview she tells us about her biggest learning in creating the “Inclusive Design Guide” and tells us what, in her eyes, makes architecture inclusive.
