The ninth European research and innovation framework programme, Horizon Europe, invests in areas that are of strategic importance for Europe. We listed some of their most interesting open calls from the 2021 – 2022 work programmes below – if you want to see all funding and tender opportunities, simply click here. The deadlines of all of the following calls is April 20, 2022!​

• Overcoming discrimination for an inclusive labour market

• Education for democracy

• Artificial intelligence, big data and democracy

• The impact of spatial mobility on European demographics, society, welfare system and labour market

• Effects of climate change and natural hazards on cultural heritage and remediation

• Conditions of irregular migrants in Europe

• Decision-making processes of (aspiring) migrants

• The future of democracy and civic participation

• Socio-economic effects of ageing societies

• Gender and social, economic and cultural empowerment

• Public policies and indicators for well-being and sustainable development

Countries that are not automatically eligible for funding through being an EU member state might be eligible through an association agreement with Horizon (this includes our members from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia). The association negotiations between Horizon and Albania and Kosovo are still being processed, but organizations from those countries should check the specific requirements of each call as they may be eligible for funding anyways.
