The Civil Society Leadership Programme for Ukraine 2024

It’s a wrap: the first Civil Society Leadership Programme for Ukraine came to a succesfull end – or at least the parts that took place in Austria did. With individual coaching sessions and an online meet up in January, we’re glad it is not time to say goodbye just yet to the 20 amazing participating women.

The Civil Society Leadership Programme, or CLPU for short, was an intense journey. For 12 days, from 14 to 23 October, we had the honor of welcoming 20 motivated leaders from Ukrainian civil society organisations here in Austria. The journey started in a retreat setting in Payerbach, Lower Austria, with getting to know each other and first input sessions. The second part took place in Vienna and included field trips to different innovative social institutions and a Q&A session at the Austrian Foreign Minstry with Minister Alexander Schallenberg.

While we worked hard to make the CLPU educational and insightful, it was thanks to a highly energetic and committed group that the programme was as inspirational and fun as it was. These 20 strong leaders have played a decisive role in shaping the programme. We’re deeply grateful for that! Our graditude also extends to everyone else involved in the process of realizing the CLPU: first and foremost ERSTE Foundation and WU Vienna as well as our dedicated faculty and all speakers, facilitators and coaches involved.
